Board Game Design

I’m currently working on designing an original board game โ€” exploring mechanics, balancing player interaction, and figuring out what makes a game actually fun to play rather than just clever on paper.

As part of the research process, I analyzed 100 board games to study their core mechanics, how they combine, and what patterns keep showing up in well-designed games.

Cognitive Biases

A curated catalog of 107 cognitive biases drawn from the work of Kahneman, Tversky, and modern cognitive psychology, enriched with contributions collected by Gian Luigi Comandini in the Black Box podcast.

Each entry includes the definition of the mechanism, the original English name, and a practical everyday example. Includes a critical note on the replicability of some studies and debunks the myth of “Kahneman’s 200 biases”.
